Dunia Raouda
Special Education Teacher
Dunia changed careers from banking to education to enable regular family visits to Lebanon. She grew up between Toronto and the mountains of Lebanon. Dunia is a proud Lebanese-Canadian who is passionate about community engagement. She first came across LMT in 2015 and became a supporter through the CFLMT.
Farah Rawas, MASc
Water Resources Engineer and University Lecturer
Farah was born in Beirut and emigrated to North America when she was 18 years old. She frequently returns to Lebanon to see her parents who currently reside in El Chouf Mountain in Lebanon and enjoys re-discovering the unique heritage and cultural treasures of the Lebanese Mountain Trail. Her passion for nature is unveiled in her academic background and chosen career path, which combine ecosystems science and engineering.
Hisham Saab, MSc
Lebanon Mountain Trail Ambassador in Canada since 2018
Hisham has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. After hiking the LMT for 10 days with his wife and son in April 2018, Hisham returned to Canada, determined to do something to support LMT and LMTA's mission and vision. LMT is not only a trail but also a path for environmental conservation and a space for social and economic equity.
Monique Bassila Zaarour
Lebanon Mountain Trail Ambassador in Quebec
After graduating from McGill University as a dietitian, Monique brought her knowledge to Lebanon to begin her career. Determined to be more than a clinical dietitian, she published books, established her own TV show, and created a very popular radio program. She managed a company with 25 employees including 12 dietitians. She is an active person who loves running and swimming, and has completed two marathons. She is committed to helping the LMTA as their ambassador in Quebec, where she currently resides.
Steve Izma
Publisher & Software Developer
Steve’s grandparents immigrated to Canada from Lebanon over 120 years ago. The strong ties to family and culture led him to make two recent trips to hike in the mountains of his ancestors. During retirement, Steve continues to engage in various social justice initiatives. He recognizes the CFLMT as a project firmly committed to a better world.

Lebanon Mountain Trail Ambassador in Canada since 2015
Wafaa earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from York University, Toronto. She brings 20+ years of experience in project design and implementation for community wellbeing, economic development and sustainable tourism initiatives. Wafaa has been a supporter of the Lebanon Mountain Trail since its inception and initiated the CFLMT to encourage Canadian support for the trail association and its programs.
